This summer reunion session with Lora’s family at Tonaquint Nature Center in St. George, Utah was such a joy to photograph! With several grown children, spouses, and a whole crew of grandkids, we had a wonderfully full group of twenty people all together.
We met in the evening, when the heat had softened and the light settled into that flattering, even glow that Tonaquint is so good for. The amphitheater steps gave us a perfect spot for the big group portraits, keeping everyone close and connected while still letting each person be seen. From there, we worked our way along the paths and down by the water, using the lush trees and soft desert greens as a calm backdrop.
I loved how the family coordinated light blues, soft pinks, and neutrals. Those colors fit beautifully with the natural tones at the nature center and will translate so well into framed wall art. We made time for the must‑have combinations: the entire group, grandparents with all the grandkids, and each individual family.
Tonaquint Nature Center is one of our favorite St. George locations for larger family get-togethers like this. There is space for kids to move, quiet corners for smaller groupings, and such pretty variety within a short walk, which kept the session relaxed while still giving us a lot of looks in a single evening.
