This summer session with Becky’s crew at Kirkland Fields in Washington, Utah was such a fun way to kick off a warm June evening! With 24 family members in town for a reunion from several different states, it felt like the perfect time to gather everyone in one beautiful spot and make the most of having the whole group together.
Kirkland Fields gave us an ideal mix of open space and shade, with tall trees filtering the light and soft, green grass underfoot. As the sun dropped, the light turned warm and golden, which worked beautifully for a large group and all the different family combinations Becky hoped to capture. We moved between full family portraits, grandparents surrounded by grandkids, and individual families, keeping things relaxed and guided so no one had to wonder what to do with their hands.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching cousins joke together between shots and siblings slipping into easy laughter. That playful energy showed up so well in the photos and kept the session feeling light even with a big group. Sessions like this are exactly why we love photographing family reunions in the St. George metro area: beautiful desert greenery, great light, and everyone together in one frame.
