Hela Seegmiller Historic Farm

Where country charm meets Southern Utah heritage

Seegmiller Farm is one of our favorite photo locations for clients who want an authentic farmhouse aesthetic. This is a real working farm with a large weathered barn, historic homes (including a vintage brick home and an older wooden home), animal stables, orchards, and open fields. It's the spot you picture when you think "country photos," and it's tucked into Little Valley, just minutes from town.

The Seegmiller family preserved this historic farm and opened it to the public in 2016. We love the variety here—you can pose against the weathered barn for a rustic look, walk through the orchards for something softer and more romantic, or use the open fields for playful shots. There's also a pond and animals on the property that add extra charm to sessions.

The farm is mostly flat and easy to navigate, which is great for families with young kids or anyone who doesn't want to deal with uneven terrain. It's peaceful and quiet, feeling far away from the hustle even though you're just a short drive from downtown.

Good to Know

When to Go

Golden hour at the farm is absolutely gorgeous. The warm light catches on the trees and historic buildings and creates long shadows across the fields, giving everything a soft, nostalgic glow. Aim for around 7-8pm in spring and summer, or 4-6pm in fall and winter. Morning sessions work beautifully here too—the early light through the orchards is really special.

Midday sessions can work if needed, especially under the shade of the trees, but golden hour is when this location really shines. The farm is open from dawn to dusk, so you have plenty of flexibility.

Through the Seasons

Spring is magical here. The fruit trees bloom, wildflowers pop up in the fields, and everything feels fresh and alive. It's also a busier time, so expect to share the farm with other visitors.

Summer brings lush greenery and warm evenings perfect for relaxed family sessions. Fall is equally beautiful, with golden leaves and crisp air that make everyone look fantastic. Winter is quieter and more minimalist, with bare trees and soft light that create a moodier, introspective feel.

Getting There & Parking

The farm is located at 2592 South 3000 East in St. George, right at the corner of 2450 South and 3000 East in Little Valley. There's parking right on site, and it's easy to find. Once you're parked, it's just a short walk to the main farm areas. The terrain is mostly flat and manageable, so strollers and wheelchairs can navigate most of the space without issue.

Who This Location Suits Best

The farm is perfect for families who want a classic country aesthetic. Kids love exploring the open spaces, and pets are welcome too, so feel free to bring your furry family members along. Senior portraits with a rustic, authentic feel turn out beautifully here as well, and engagement sessions tend to have a romantic, timeless quality.

This is also an excellent choice for larger family gatherings or multi-generational sessions, since there's plenty of room to spread out and the varied backdrops mean everyone can get different looks. If you're drawn to farmhouse style, vintage vibes, or just want something that feels warm and nostalgic, this is your spot.
