Hela Seegmiller Historical Farm
Where country charm meets Southern Utah heritage
Seegmiller Farm is one of our favorite photo locations for clients who want an authentic farmhouse aesthetic. This is a real working farm with a large weathered barn, historic homes (including a vintage brick home and an older wooden home), animal stables, orchards, and open fields. It's the spot you picture when you think "country photos," and it's tucked into Little Valley, just minutes from town.
The Seegmiller family preserved this historic farm and opened it to the public in 2016. We love the variety here—you can pose against the weathered barn for a rustic look, walk through the orchards for something softer and more romantic, or use the open fields for playful shots. There's also a pond and animals on the property that add extra charm to sessions.
The farm is mostly flat and easy to navigate, which is great for families with young kids or anyone who doesn't want to deal with uneven terrain. It's peaceful and quiet, feeling far away from the hustle even though you're just a short drive from downtown.

Good to Know
When to Go
Golden hour at the farm is absolutely gorgeous. The warm light catches on the trees and historic buildings, creating long shadows across the fields with a soft, nostalgic glow. Aim for 7-8pm in spring/summer or 4-6pm in fall/winter. Morning sessions are equally beautiful, with early light filtering through the orchards.
Midday can work under the shade of trees, but golden hour is when this location truly shines. The farm is open dawn to dusk for flexibility.
Through the Seasons
Spring is magical with blooming fruit trees and wildflowers, though it's busier with other visitors. Summer brings lush greenery perfect for relaxed family sessions. Fall delivers golden leaves and crisp air, while winter offers a quieter, more minimalist feel with bare trees and moodier light.
Getting There, Parking & Accessibility
The farm is located at 2592 South 3000 East in Little Valley. There's onsite parking, and the entrance to the farm is connected to the parking lot. The mostly flat terrain accommodates strollers and wheelchairs easily.
Who This Location Suits Best
Perfect for families wanting a classic country aesthetic. Kids love exploring, and pets are welcome too. Senior portraits have authentic rustic appeal, while engagement sessions feel romantic and timeless.
It's also excellent for larger gatherings or multi-generational sessions with plenty of room and varied backdrops. If you're drawn to farmhouse style, vintage vibes, or warm nostalgia, this is your spot.
Important Considerations
Although the farm is generally available to the public, it also hosts private events including weddings on very short notice. When a private event is scheduled, the facility is closed to other visitors. Because of the erratic nature of these reservations, there's a chance that your session may need to be rescheduled if the facility happens to be booked on the date of your photoshoot. We'll do our best to keep you updated if this happens.

Is This Your Spot?
If the Hela Seegmiller Historic Farm feels like the right backdrop for your session, we'd love to photograph you here. Our photographers know the best spots—where the barn light is most flattering, which orchards look best during which season, and how to capture that authentic farm feel without making it feel staged.
Still deciding? No problem. We shoot at several locations around St. George, each with its own personality. Some are dramatic like Pioneer Park, others are open and grassy like Kirkland Fields. The right location is simply the one that matches the vibe you're going for.
