An early spring evening in Pioneer Park is hard to beat, and Gracie’s senior session made it feel especially fun. We met at 5:30 PM, right as the light started to soften and spill across the red rock. That warm St. George, Utah glow is one of my favorite backdrops for outdoor portraits, and it suited Gracie perfectly.
With the red cliffs around us and the sky just beginning to mellow, we wandered through the sandstone paths, using the natural curves and textures of the rock to frame her. Gracie wanted relaxed, casual images and was open to lots of posing guidance, which meant we could ease into each spot, tweak little details, and really let her personality come through.
I loved the contrast of her outfit against the desert tones—polished but still playful and comfortable for climbing onto rocks and settling into more candid moments. The light stayed kind and even for us, giving her skin a beautiful glow and keeping the focus right on her expressions.
Pioneer Park is such a gem for senior photos: easy to access, but with that classic Southern Utah scenery that feels like an adventure. Gracie’s session was a great reminder of why this spot is a go-to for celebrating big milestones like graduation.
