Spring in Southern Utah is one of my favorite times for senior portraits, and Gracie’s evening session at Kirkland Fields was a perfect example of why. We met just before sunset, when the light turns soft and golden and the fields along Washington Fields Road start to glow.
Gracie wanted a candid, relaxed feel for her graduation photos, so we kept things light while I guided her into natural poses. The open grass, soft trees, and wide skies gave us a beautiful, clean backdrop that really let her personality and style stand out. I loved how her white dress and cap and gown looked against the fresh greens of the fields—simple, timeless, and so fitting for this milestone.
As the sun dropped lower, the light filtered through the branches and created this dreamy, backlit look that felt both peaceful and celebratory. We mixed in a few close-up portraits, some laid-back shots in the grass, and a couple of fun tassel details to mark the Class of 2026.
Kirkland Fields is such a gem here in the St. George, Utah area for seniors who want something natural and airy without leaving town. Celebrating this season of life with Gracie in that soft March light was an absolute pleasure.
